Marshall Municipal Band and Philharmonic
Kevin Lines
The director of the Marshall Municipal Band is Kevin
Lines. He received the permanent appointment to this position in
2001, having formerly served as director during the 1997 sabbatical
of previous director Charles Ferguson. Kevin has been a member of
the band since 1990. In addition to his membership in the Marshall
Band, he was a member of the El Dorado Springs City Band for over
ten years. El Dorado Springs and Marshall are two of the six
tax-supported bands in the state of Missouri.
Kevin recently
retired as Orchestra Director and Assistant Band Director for the
Marshall Public School system. Besides his duties with the school,
he serves as the conductor of the Marshall Philharmonic Orchestra.
He has served the West-Central District MMEA, having held the
offices of both band and orchestra vice-president as well as serving
as President of the organization.
Kevin received his
BME from Central Methodist University (formally Central Methodist
College) and a Master of Arts in Music from University of Central
Missouri (formally Central Missouri State University). He studied
trombone/euphonium with the late Ron Anson and Dr. Charles McAdams.
Kevin played in the CMC Marching and Concert bands under the baton
of the late Professor Keith House and Skip Vandelicht.
